Marina Volnova proved victorious at the 3rd Taipei City Cup International Boxing Tournament in the weight category up to 75 kg, and Gulzhaina Ubbiniyazova (60 kg) gained the bronze medal.
Marina showed a confident performance to win all of her three bouts leaving no chances to her opponents. Gulzhaina lost her semifinal match in a hard fight by a score of 2:1.
Kazakhstan boxers took part only in the women’s program of the tournament, which included four weight categories: 48, 51, 60, and 75 kg. The Kazakhstan team was also represented at the tournament by Dina Ilyubayeva (48 kg) and Akyerke Khusainova (51 kg).
In all, the women’s program of the Taipei City Cup (Chinese Taipei) that took place on 15-18 August saw 41 athletes from 16 countries.
