At the memorial tournament of Nikolay Manger in Ukraine the representative of Pavlodar region was awarded as the best technical boxer.
Kuan Kuatov in the official web site of Kazakhstan Boxing Federation has told about his victory and he didn’t expect to win the «The Best Technical Boxer» title at the tournament in Ukraine.
- Kuan, we congratulate you on this gold medal! Did you expect such result?
- I was going there to win as my opponents in the team also participated in different international tournaments and won medals. I had no choice. I wanted to follow my friends and to win the gold medal too. I did it and that was why I came there.
- You were awarded as «The Best Technical Boxer» title of the tournament. How do you think it was fair?
- It was up to them. I was really happy to win this title. I believe that I showed my best skills and qualities and they remembered me as they awarded me by this title. It is to be honestly I didn’t even think about it and I was very surprised. I will keep working hard.
- Could you tell us about future objectives?
- Coaching staff gave us a rest until 23 of May. After that we will have an educational training camp in Astana prior the President’s Cup international tournament. It will be in June in Astana. There will be 4 boxers in each weight category from us. This tournament is important for us because it will be decided who will compete in the Asian Games in Indonesia. I will do my best to go there and to get the best result.
