The AIBA World Boxing Academy is Open!

 Today the grand opening of the AIBA World Boxing Academy – the first training complex of this kind in the world – was held in Talgar district of Almaty province.

The complex was commissioned in May of this year. It meets all of the most modern requirements and is considered the home of the big AIBA family.
 
Participating in the opening of the academy were Kazakhstan’s sports and culture minister Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, AIBA president Wu Ching-kuo, president of the Kazakhstan boxing federation Timur Kulibayev along with KBF vice presidents Yuri Tsai and Serik Konakbayev. Among the guests invited to the ceremony were the heads of many national boxing associations of the world, the administration of Almaty province, the heads of the regional federations including Baurzhan Osipov – head of the Almaty province boxing federation, as well as veterans of the sport.
 
After the ceremonial ribbon cutting the guests and media representatives went into the training complex where a film about the World boxing academy was shown.
 
Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, Wu Ching-kuo and Serik Konakbayev made greeting speeches and Mr. Konakbayev officially declared the opening of the World boxing academy.
 
During the official opening of the World boxing academy an agreement was signed between the Kazakhstan boxing federation and the Wiltse Memorial hospital (South Korea). IRC – the international rehabilitation center of the AIBA academy is a medical complex which has the most modern equipment. The agreement was signed by KBF executive director Bekzhan Bektenov and the chief medical officer of the hospital Dr. Park.
 
Then the participants of the event were given a tour of the complex. The guests were very pleased with the complex.
